We have a great plans for this year's gathering, August 5th-7th, 2011. The gathering officially begins with the Open Space meeting Friday morning at 11:00. Two pre-gathering workshops are planned for Thursday, August 4th for an additional fee. Several classes will be offered Friday morning from 9-11.

Two special workshops are being offered on Thursday, August 4th. In conjunction to this year's theme of Retooling and Reskilling, we have a primitive skills workshop with Natalie Bogwalker and a NVC workshop with Steve Torma to help us retool our relationships.

Friday morning before our Open Space, we will have three classes: Permaculture Roots: A Re-Introduction To Cultural Composting with Zev Friedman, a plant walk with Marc Williams and a mushroom walk with Alan Muskat.

Friday night, Doug Elliot will entertain us with his delightful storytelling.

Our space is limited for the gathering; we can only allow 120 people to attend. You must pre-register to attend as we generally have a full count 2-3 weeks before the gathering. There is no on-site registration.

Frank Cook

Frank CookLast years gathering was dedicated to Frank Cook, a most amazing ethnobotanist and humanitarian who left his physical body shortly after last year’s Southeastern Permaculture Gathering. Frank attended our gathering at least 12 times. He was a frequent facilitator of plant walks and guided journeys of Plant Spirit Medicine as well as many other topics.

Arthur Morgan School

Our gathering is held in Celo at The Arthur Morgan School, which provides a safe and loving environment where 27 day and boarding school students in grades 7, 8 and 9 learn to question and evaluate, think creatively and work cooperatively.

Students and staff honor the Quaker values of simplicity, responsibility, service, personal integrity, nonviolent conflict resolution and respect for self, others and the environment.
